mRNA Vaccinia Capping Enzyme GMP-grade (10 U/μL)-2 KU
In eukaryotes, mRNA forms a special structure at its 5' end after transcription, called the cap structure. This cap structure plays an important role in mRNA stability, transport, and translation. The cap enzyme in poxvirus is an active enzyme that catalyzes the formation of the cap structure. It consists of two subunits, D1 and D12. It also possesses RNA triphosphatase, guanylate acyltransferase, and guanine methyltransferase activities, which can bind the 7-methylguanine cap structure (m7Gppp) to the 5' end of the RNA (m7Gppp5'N). The cap enzyme in poxvirus can cap RNA in the correct orientation within one hour when present at appropriate concentrations of cap solution, guanosine triphosphate (GTP), S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), etc. This product is produced according to GMP process requirements and is supplied in liquid form, and is used in in vivo/in vitro mRNA pre-translation capping reaction or mRNA 5'end labeling reaction.
